CUSPED Periodic customs declaration

This Periodic Customs Declaration Message (CUSPED) permits the transfer of data from a declarant to a customs administration for the purpose of meeting legislative and/or operational requirements in respect of the periodic declaration of goods for import or export. The message may also be used, for example :

- to transmit consignment data from one customs administration to another; - to transmit data from a customs authority to other governments agencies and/or interested administrations; - to transmit data from a declarant to the appropriate data collection agency on the movement of goods between statistical territories.

  1. A service segment starting and uniquely identifying a message. The message type code for the Periodic customs declaration message is CUSPED. Note: Periodic customs declaration messages conforming to this document must contain the following data in segment UNH, composite S009: Data element 0065 CUSPED 0052 D 0054 20A 0051 UN

    1. Data element S009/0057 is retained for upward compatibility. The use of
    S016 and/or S017 is encouraged in preference.
    2. The combination of the values carried in data elements 0062 and S009 shall
    be used to identify uniquely the message within its group (if used) or if
    not used, within its interchange, for the purpose of acknowledgement.
  2. A segment identifying the declaration type and reference.

  3. A segment identifying the customs procedure and status of the goods relevant to the whole message.

  4. A segment identifying a place or location relevant to the entire message. For example, office of assessment.

  5. A segment identifying dates, times or periods relevant to the whole message. For example, period covered by the declaration.

  6. A segment identifying the various indicators required by a customs system. For example, special programs.

  7. A segment identifying an account and a related financial institution relevant to the whole message.

  12. A segment specifying control totals. For example, the number of simplified Customs declarations.

    2. A segment specifying control totals within this group. E.g. the total number of Customs items, and values.

    3. A segment identifying the various references relevant to the whole previous simplified Customs declaration.

    4. A segment identifying a date related to the whole previous simplified Customs declaration identified in DMS.

    5. A segment identifying any necessary processing indicators where these are required.

    6. A segment identifying a place or location related to the document identified in the DMS. E.g. Customs office of entry, country of purchase.

    7. A segment identifying the equipment (e.g. container id) used to transport all the goods related to the whole declaration identified in DMS.

    8. A segment identifying the number and type of packages related to the whole declaration identified in DMS.

    1. 0062, the value shall be identical to the value in 0062 in the
    corresponding UNH segment.
