RESREQ Reservation request

TBG9 Travel, Tourism and Leisure

An interactive Travel, Tourism and Leisure Reservations Request is sent by a customer or his agent, to a service provider to reserve, modify or cancel a Travel, Tourism and Leisure service. The Travel, Tourism and Leisure Reservation Response - Interactive message (RESRSP) is utilised to provide an interactive response to the interactive service request.

  1. A service segment starting and uniquely identifying a message. The message type code for the Reservation request - interactive message is RESREQ. Note: Reservation request - interactive messages conforming to this document must contain the following data in segment UIH, composite S306: Data element 0065 RESREQ 0052 D 0054 19B 0051 UN

    1. The value in 0340 shall be unique within the interchange (except for a
    duplicate transfer).
    2. The value(s) in S302 shall be identical to the value(s) in S302 in the
    preceding UIB.
    3. 0035, when used, test applies to the message only.
    4. Dialogue control can be accomplished through the dialogue reference
    (S302). Optionally, if another means of control is chosen, this composite
    data element need not be utilised.
    5. A combination of 0340 and S302 may be used to identify uniquely a message.

  2. A segment identifying the industry type (i.e. Air, Car, Train, Accommodations, etc.) and business function of the message.

  3. A segment providing data pertaining to the originator of the interactive processing request (i.e. travel agent identity and location and the commercial computer reservations system delivering the message).

  4. Information providing a specific reference to a Travel, Tourism and Leisure (TT&L) reservation for a travel product.

  5. Number and identifying qualifier pertaining to the entire TT&L reservation request (i.e. number and type of passengers, [4 adults]).

  6. Frequent Traveller Program information relating to the entire TT&L reservation request (frequent flier number).

  7. Consumer reference information relating to the entire TT&L reservation request (corporate discount number, personal profile number).

  8. Instructions pertaining to a Clear Terminate request related to the entire TT&L reservation request (i.e. ignore all transactions during this interactive business transaction).

  9. Additional information relating to a tour (tour code or name).

  10. Information providing contact numbers relevant to the TT&L reservation request (i.e. booking travel agent, tour company).

  11. Numbers assigned to information in the previous response which may be used to make a request without repeating all the information.

  12. Information specifying terminal equipment addresses and device types that may be used for tracing and security purposes.

  13. Tariff information relating to the entire TT&L reservation request.

  14. To specify the point of sale to determine the rate to provide.

  15. A segment to indicate the commission details that are to be paid for making the reservation.

  16. Free form text data pertaining to the entire TT&L reservation request.

  17. Information relating to documents associated with the TT&L reservation request (i.e. passport number, tour package identifier, etc.).

  18. Addresses related to the entire TT&L reservation.
