X12 204 Motor Carrier Load Tender
This X12 Transaction Set contains the format and establishes the data contents of the Motor Carrier Load Tender Transaction Set (204) for use within the context of an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) environment. This transaction set can be used to allow shippers or other interested parties to offer (tender) a shipment to a full load (truckload) motor carrier including detailed scheduling, equipment requirements, commodities, and shipping instructions pertinent to a load tender. It is not to be used to provide a motor carrier with data relative to a Less-than-Truckload bill of lading, pickup notification, or manifest.

The Shipment Identification Number will contain the Walmart Load Number. This should be returned in the Shipment Identification Number (B1-02) of the Response to Load Tender (X12 document 990).

01 Cancellation
When sent, this qualifier indicates one of the following events ocurred: the Must Respond by Time has elapsed with no response from the carrier or a Walmart Traffic Analyst has rejected the load for the carrier.
04 Change
When sent, this qualifier indicates there are specific changes to a previous tendered load. Examples of a 204 change include, but are not limited to: stop sequence changes, stop location change, or adding/removing purchase orders When Walmart sends a 204 change for a previous tendered and a 990 Response has already been sent by the carrier, a new 990 Response is not expected. However, if a 204 change has been sent to the carrier before a 990 response has been sent to Walmart, the "Must Respond by Date" will be reset to allow carriers to respond to the change.

53 Deliver Not Before Date
This qualifier is only sent when Stop Reason Code (S5-02) is either Complete Unload (CU) or Part Unload (PU). When sent, the Date (G62-02) and Time (G62-04) will indicate the earliest the load can arrive.
The Time will be accompanied by the Earliest Requested Deliver Time (G) qualifier in the Time Qualifier (G62-03) and Central Time (CT) qualifier in the Time Code (G62-05).This value is mutually exclusive with G62 with qualifier 10.
54 Deliver No Later Than Date
This qualifier is only sent when Stop Reason Code (S5-02) is either Complete Unload (CU) or Part Unload (PU). When sent, the Date (G62-02) and Time (G62-04) will indicate the latest the load can arrive. The Time will be accompanied by the Latest Requested Deliver Time (L) qualifier in the
Time Qualifier (G62-03) and Central Time (CT) qualifier in the Time Code (G62-05). This value is mutually exclusive with G62 with qualifier 10.
78 Delivery Appointment Scheduled Date
This qualifier is only sent when the Stop Reason Code (S5-02) is either Complete Unload (CU) or Drop Trailer (DT) or Part Unload (PU) or Unload (UL). When sent, the G62-02 will be included and Indicates the Auto Scheduled Appointment Date and Time for the Walmart Facility. This segment will be accompanied by an L11 with AO Qualifier.

Shipment Weight, Packaging and Quantity Data

- Segment AT8 in loop 0300 is intended for the transmitting of total weight, quantity, and volume relative to the specific stop-off. Should weight, quantity, and volume also be sent in segment AT8 in loop 0320 and tied to commodity detail, then the accumulated amounts of weight, quantity, and volume in the AT8 segment in loop 0320 should equal the amounts in the single AT8 occurrence in loop 0300.
Number of units (pieces) of the lading commodity
- AT804 is the quantity of handling units that are not unitized (for example a carton). When added to the quantity in AT805, it is the total quantity of handling units in the shipment.
