X12 944 Warehouse Stock Transfer Receipt Advice
This Draft Standard for Trial Use contains the format and establishes the data contents of the Warehouse Stock Transfer Receipt Advice Transaction Set (944) for use within the context of an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) environment.
The transaction set can be used by a receiving location to advise a depositor or an agent of the depositor that a transfer shipment has been received. This transaction set provides the depositor or the depositor's agent with detail information concerning product that has been received.

Warehouse Receipt Identification
To provide identifying numbers and date
The segment is used to communicate the shipment ID number (SID). This shipment ID number represents the total contents of a material shipment between locations where one of the end points is a warehouse. Often the Bill of Lading number is used, but it can be any number which is not repeated. The action code associated indicates an original shipment. If a replacement transaction is sent, then John Deere requires the entire
contents of the shipment data re-transmitted.
Code specifying the basis used when reporting shipment information
Element is required to be one of these codes. 'P' will indicate a product or material receipt has been made at the 3PL Warehouse. 'B' will be used to indicate material status has been changed to John Deere owned. Code values 'S' and 'X' are used only to make adjustments to previous warehouse receipts.
The two 944 transactions could be combined in the same ISA envelope, but John Deere expects the 'P' coded transaction to be received prior to the 'B' coded transaction.
To correct over or under reporting on previous 944 transmissions, we'll use 'S' to indicate a shortage or correction of over reporting on a previous 'P' coded 944. A 'X' should be used to indicate a shortage or correction of over reporting on a previous 'B' coded 944. Additional 'P' coded 944s should be sent to correct an under reporting situation.

Pack list references are not sent in a reference segment, the SID will be used as the invoice number for ERS. This is the original provider's shipment number which is used for reference number (invoice no) when supplier's invoice is created. This number will be used as invoice number in the Account's Payable system within John Deere.
