SMS04 is the zip code assigned to the rail station for rating purposes. It is not meant to be the mailing address postal code.
Code identifying the restriction of service being provided by the serving carrier
Code identifying the time. In accordance with International Standards Organization standard 8601, time can be specified by a + or - and an indication in hours in relation to Universal Time Coordinate (UTC) time; since + is a restricted character, + and - are substituted by P and M in the codes that follow
P0611: If either SMS-06 or SMS-11 is present, then the other is required
SMS06 is the time zone of the station.
Code which identifies a specific location
P0708: If either SMS-07 or SMS-08 is present, then the other is required
SMS07 is the latitude of the station.
Code which identifies a specific location
SMS08 is the longitude of the station.
Code indicating a Yes or No condition or response
SMS09 indicates if the station is physically served. A "Y" indicates the station is physically served; an "N" indicates the station is not physically served.
Code identifying a party or other code
SMS10 is the Association of American Railroads 3-3-3 station name code.
Code indicating a Yes or No condition or response
SMS11 indicates if daylight savings time applies. A "Y" indicates daylight savings time applies; an "N" indicates that daylight savings time does not apply.
Code identifying the Standard Carrier Alpha Code
P1213: If either SMS-12 or SMS-13 is present, then the other is required
SMS12 is the new Standard Carrier Alpha Code of the expired Standard Carrier Alpha Code shown in SMS01.
When SMS12 and SMS13 are used, SMB01 must be 56 (Expiration Notification).

SMS13 is the new Freight Station Accounting Code of the expired Freight Station Accounting Code shown in SMS02.
