SMS03 is the effective start date for the association of station codes to the station name in the transaction.
Code indicating railroad interchange locations
Code defining international postal zone code excluding punctuation and blanks (zip code for United States)
SMS05 is the zip code assigned to the rail station for rating purposes. It is not meant to be the mailing address postal code.
Code identifying the restriction of service being provided by the serving carrier
Code identifying the time. In accordance with International Standards Organization standard 8601, time can be specified by a + or - and an indication in hours in relation to Universal Time Coordinate (UTC) time; since + is a restricted character, + and - are substituted by P and M in the codes that follow
P0713: If either SMS-07 or SMS-13 is present, then the other is required

SMS08 is the latitude of the station.
Code which identifies a specific location
SMS09 is the longitude of the station.
The first two characters in the designation of the year (CCYY)
SMS10 is the century for the date in SMS03.
Code indicating a Yes or No condition or response
SMS11 indicates if the station is physically served. A "Y" indicates the station is physically served; an "N" indicates the station is not physically served.

SMS12 is the Association of American Railroads 3-3-3 station name code.
Code indicating a Yes or No condition or response
SMS13 indicates if daylight savings time applies. A "Y" indicates daylight savings time applies; an "N" indicates that daylight savings time does not apply.
