X12 204 Motor Carrier Load Tender
This X12 Transaction Set contains the format and establishes the data contents of the Motor Carrier Load Tender Transaction Set (204) for use within the context of an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) environment. This transaction set can be used to allow shippers or other interested parties to offer (tender) a shipment to a full load (truckload) motor carrier including detailed scheduling, equipment requirements, commodities, and shipping instructions pertinent to a load tender. It is not to be used to provide a motor carrier with data relative to a Less-than-Truckload bill of lading, pick-up notification, or manifest.

The hazardous classification corresponding to the shipping name of the hazardous commodity
Mandatory whenever the data is required for U.S and/or Canadian hazardous shipment requirements.
The compatibility group must follow the division number for dangerous goods included in Class 1 (i.e. 1.1D where D is the compatibility group). Except for combustible liquids, only pass the numeric hazard class, decimal, division and compatibility group if applicable. Do not pass the words 'CLASS' or 'HAZARD CLASS'.
For Secondary Hazard Classifications do not pass parentheses. For combustible liquids pass 'COMBUSTIBLE LIQUID'.

The compatibility group must follow the division number for dangerous goods included in Class 1 (i.e. 1.1D where D is the compatibility group). Except for combustible liquids, only pass the numeric hazard class, decimal, division and compatibility group if applicable. Do not pass the words 'CLASS' or 'HAZARD CLASS'.
For Secondary Hazard Classifications do not pass parentheses. For combustible liquids pass 'COMBUSTIBLE LIQUID'.
